Liverpool target Leny Yoro could leave Lille for record fee

Liverpool have joined the race to sign promising Lille OSC’s Leny Yoro (18), who could become the most expensive defender in Ligue 1 history this summer, according to Téléfoot

Yoro won’t be short of suitors this summer. The France youth international isn’t expected to leave Lille this summer, however, the €50m-rated centre-back is already attracting interest from Europe’s elite. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been following Yoro for some time. The former has, however, been priced out of a move this month, although his agent, Samir Khiat, told RMC Sport that his client is indeed a serious target for Les Parisiens.

Liverpool have now also joined the race to sign Yoro. The Merseyside club are also interested in Yoro’s compatriot, Jean-Clair Todibo, according to Nice-Matin, however, OGC Nice are asking for a significant fee to part ways with the France international. Yoro won’t come cheap either. According to sources close to the deal, Yoro could become attract the highest fee for a Ligue 1 defender. Benjamin Mendy, who joined Manchester City from AS Monaco for just over €57m, is currently the most expensive defender to have been sold by a Ligue 1 club.
