Official | Nice sign Mohamed-Ali Cho from Real Sociedad

Via press release, OGC Nice have announced the signing of Mohamed-Ali Cho (19) from Real Sociedad on a permanent transfer for a fee thought to be totalling €12 million with bonuses.

The French forward made his name at Angers SCO when he launched his career in Ligue 1 at the age of 16 before joining La Real in 2022. The forward with the Basque club got to experience Champions League football but now looks back to Ligue 1, and with it Nice, to continue his development.

In the club statement, Cho referred to how he wanted to ‘express my qualities, continue to progress and assert myself. I am convinced that joining Nice today will allow me to do this.’

The sporting director for Nice, Florent Ghisolfi, stated that the forward represented their ‘priority for this transfer window.’ Continuing, ‘His versatility in all three offensive positions will be an asset. He has great potential as well as a freshness that will quickly add value to the team. And he has all the human qualities to best integrate into our club.’

This was a sentiment continued by the president of the club, Jean-Pierre Rivère, ‘His recruitment this winter was an opportunity that we did not want to miss.’

Cho joins Le Gym at an exciting time as the team occupies second place at the halfway point of the season. Under Francesco Farioli, appointed as Nice manager in the summer, there is optimism within the club that this squad could finish strongly and challenge for a podium finish come the end of the season.
