Milan Škriniar successfully undergoes ankle surgery

Loïc Tanzi has reported that Paris Saint-Germain defender, Milan Škriniar (28), has had successful surgery on his ankle.

The defender had become injured during PSG’s 2-0 victory over Toulouse FC in the Trophée des Champions, when the centreback dislocated his left ankle

Škriniar travelled to Doha where he was operated on by  Dr. Pieter D’Hooghe last night. The surgery has been considered a success and the road back to fitness can now begin for the defender who joined Les Parisiens from Internazionale Milan in the summer.

A troubled move for Milan Škriniar

The defender’s performances have accumulated some criticisms following his free transfer. Early on in the season, Škriniar struggled to play out from the back and was put under intense pressure in Les Parisien’s dramatic defeat to Newcastle.

Despite these early teething problems, Škriniar has proven himself to be an important part of the defence and his absence will be missed.  It’s unclear what the roadmap looks like for the centreback to return to playing, but there is a possibility that the defender will not feature again for his new team.
