Frankfurt in renewed talks for Hugo Ekitike

As reported by Téléfoot, German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have entered back into discussions in recent hours with Paris Saint-Germain for French youth international centre-forward Hugo Ekitike, as both clubs continue to negotiate the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani in parallel.

Ekitike has been the subject of numerous interests from clubs in the last 10 days, having held talks with all of AC Milan, West Ham and Lens in the last few days. Lens ended up signing Elye Wahi from Montpellier instead, whilst AC Milan appear to be moving towards a deal for Iranian and FC Porto forward Mehdi Taremi.

That leaves West Ham and Frankfurt in the fight for Ekitiké. PSG want a loan with an obligation to buy or an outright sale of the player that they acquired from Reims just 12 months ago. Milan were turned off by this demand. PSG so far this summer have accepted just one bid for Ekitike and that was from Everton worth €40m (including loan fee and obligation to buy) but the player was not interested. Everton have since moved to sign Udinese attacker Beto.

Frankfurt want a loan with an option to buy and are not currently willing to buy Ekitike outright – PSG may soften their demands when it comes to Frankfurt specifically because they are simultaneously trying to sign Kolo Muani from the German outfit.
