Salzburg looking to bid on Lyon’s Sinaly Diomandé

According to Foot Mercato, RB Salzburg are preparing a bid for Olympique Lyonnais’ Sinaly Diomandé (22), as the Ivorian defender is no longer appreciated at his current club.

The Austrian club was reportedly already interested in the signing of the player back during the summer transfer window but had never made a move for him. Now that Diomandé’s reputation at Lyon is lower than ever, this could be the time for the Bundesliga champions to make a move, especially considering his play time could be even further reduced by the arrival of Brazilian centre-back Adryelson (25) from Botafogo this winter.

Diomandé hasn’t made an appearance for Les Gones since the end of November, and will undoubtedly be after a move to a new club this winter, with Salzburg a very viable option, offering consistent exposure on the European stage, while playing in an increasingly competitive domestic league. The 22-year-old has an estimated transfer value of €7 million, though he could leave the club for a fee lower than that.
