Juventus set to complete deal to sign Tiago Djalo from Lille

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are set to complete a deal to sign Tiago Djalo (23) from Lille. The Serie A club have been one of many clubs to show an interest in the Portuguese defender in the January transfer window and appear to have beaten the likes of Inter and Atlético Madrid to capture his services.

The Bianconeri hope to complete the deal to sign Djalo in the coming days. They are waiting on the completion of Filippo Ranocchia’s move to Palermo before they can complete the move due to FFP reasons, according to Romano. Despite this small delay in the move, everything else in the deal appears to be done.

Juventus submitted an initial offer of €3.5m for the Lille defender, according to Foot Mercato.  However, it remains to be seen what the final fee agreed between the two clubs is.

A return to football in Italy?

Lille were keen to avoid losing Djalo on a free transfer so will be happy to agree a permanent transfer with the Old Lady. Djalo has not featured in a competitive match for Les Dogues in the 2023/24 season following rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in March 2023. The Portuguese international now looks likely to make his return to competitive action in Italy.
